Unitarian Univeralists of Caldwell County is an emergent congregation; emergent in the sense that we are poised for growth, not just in numbers but in spiritual growth as well. Our first service was held in October, 2005. Since then we have met every Sunday.
Our founders were people who longed for the things that other churches provide: stimulating services, freedom to express personal spirituality, and, of course, fellowship. We do not yet have a spiritual leader, but every Sunday we enjoy a speaker who shares inspiration and ideas about a topic of interest. Frequently our speaker is a member of our congregation, but we often host visiting speakers as well.
We come from a variety of religious backgrounds and experiences, but we are united in our beliefs in charity, generosity, tolerance, democracy and personal freedom. Furthermore, we believe that each individual should be encouraged to develop a personal theology and be able to express religious beliefs and opinions without fear of censure or reprisal.
